Many know that quartz is the most abundant mineral on the planet. Recent discoveries of beautiful new colors are rocking the jewelry world. Beyond the well known amethyst and citrine are up and coming colors.

A durable and sparkling gemstone with a hardness of 7, quartz has been loved for thousands of years as a gemstone of ornamentation and healing. Quartz can be found through many countries in all geologic environments. Largest deposits for natural quartz crystals are the United States (especially Arkansas) and Brazil.
