Our Sapphire Jewelry is a Perfect Choice for September Birthstone Gifts!

If you’re been having a hard time trying to find the perfect gift for that special someone who’s birthday happens to fall in the month of September, then you’ve come to the right place! There is no more thoughtful and timeless a gift to give someone for their birthday than a birthstone jewelry piece that is set with a gemstone of their respective birth month. For this particular month of September, it happens to be the breathtaking and beautiful sapphire gemstone. We have a ton of natural and lab created sapphire jewelrysapphire jewelry all ready to be shipped with custom orders always welcome.

If you’re a bit strapped for cash – and really, why wouldn’t you be in these economic times, everyone is – then lab created sapphire gemstone jewelry is definitely the route you may want to take. Lab created gemstones are physically and visually identical to their all-natural counterparts with the only real difference between them being exhibited in the price tag! Since the gemstones are created inside of a lab instead of in nature, they are for whatever reason priced much more cheaply than nature created gemstones. This really has to do with uninformed public opinion which thinks that lab created gemstones are fake and flimsy and worth their price tag.

The actual opposite of this is true! Lab created sapphire jewelry is practically the exact same! Lab created gemstones, including lab created sapphire jewelry, look, feel, and sparkle just like natural gemstones. They have the same hardness and the same durability. Some certain types of gemstones have different characteristics within the actual gemstone that are only really noticeable by a magnifying glass or highly trained eye.

If you’ve been lamenting about getting a great gift for a reasonable price for that special someone with a birthday in September, then lab created sapphire jewelry is for you. It may sound too good to be true, but it’s not! If you want to purchase an all natural sapphire jewelry piece than that is fine too! We do whatever it takes to please you, the customer, since it is you, the customer that keeps us afloat! If there’s anything at all that we can do to make your shopping experience more pleasurable or even if you just have a few questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us via e-mail or telephone (with the number being at the top of this page).
Good luck and happy hunting! =)

Sardonyx the alternate birthstone of August

If you're looking for an unusual piece of jewelry with a real sense of character, consider a sardonyx pendant or sardonyx ring. Although it is used as the alternative August birthstone, sardonyx jewelry offers features that not many other gemstones have to offer. For example, a sardonyx men's ring, popular for those men who want an August birthstone ring but do not like peridot jewelry, can come in three different colors: orange, black or green - all with a white stripe running through the stone. I gladly make sardonyx jewelry in your choice of yellow gold, white gold or sterling silver.

Sardonyx jewelry is unique because unlike many other gems, the color choices give a much wider selection as well as different properties some people believe them to have. For instance, an orange sardonyx ring is believed to stimulate while a green sardonyx earrings would be seen as purifying. Black sardonyx jewelry is believed to absorb negative energy so that it does not affect the wearer.

For a 10th anniversary, sardonyx jewelry is the traditional gift to mark the occasion. It's also been associated with the planet Saturn and also Mars since Roman times when it was believed to fuel courage and lead to victory in battle. Sardonyx jewelry is commonly thought to assist those born under the zodiac sign Leo or with strong Leo influence in their astrology chart. It's also believed to aid those seeking self control, lessening hesitation and acts as a cure for depression.

It's fitting that a stone sometimes described as 'resembling a formal business tie' due to its white striping, would considered a valuable addition to a public person's jewelry collection. Public speakers are believed to gain extra power from sardonyx jewelry when it comes to getting their message across with extra potency that would help the listeners be able to see the speaker's point of view.

We've recently added green sardonyx to our collection here at Earth's Treasures and we have large 30x40mm size cabochon cut orange sardonyx perfect for a sardonyx pendant.

Ruby Jewelry the birthstone of July

One gem that is instantly recognizable by nearly anyone in the world is the July birthstone, Ruby. Due to its striking red color, which ranges from pale fiery red to a dark passionate crimson, a ruby ring is seen as one of the better gifts to share with a romantic partner. The stone itself is actually colored by corundum, a mineral that's present in sapphires, as well. That makes ruby a cousin of sapphire - there's a fun little fact!

Aside from the lab created ruby jewelry offered at Earth's Treasures, you will also find stunning natural ruby jewelry. I happened to get the chance to obtain some rubies that are now being mined in a newly discovered mine in Kenya, Africa. These rich fiery red rubies have enabled me to create natural ruby earrings and other ruby jewelry custom designed to your specifications. I'm able to set these rubies in your choice of sterling silver, yellow gold or white gold. The vibrant shade of these stones suggests they'd be perfect for a ruby men's ring so if you're interested in that, be sure to get in contact with me.

Ruby jewelry has been fascinating to cultures across the world for such a long time because the color red itself conjures up visions of blood, the heart and burning passion. Because of this imagery, the gem used to be believed to be able heat water by its own power. Its association to the red planet of Mars is not surprising, then, and its tie to the element of fire even less mysterious. Many signs of the zodiac are said to tie into the ruby, such as Sagittarius, Leo, Scorpio and Cancer.

The healing properties of a ruby pendant, as taught by the ancients, would affect fevers, circulatory issues, heart conditions, the muscular system, the brain and issues involving the thyroid. Ruby jewelry is also said to benefit in areas of fertility, detoxification by acting as an aphrodisiac. It's important to keep in mind these are not scientifically researched and proven health effects, but if it works for you then who's to argue?

As far as its other effects, ruby was historically thought to be an excellent protection stone and was used in the breastplates of High Priests, as well in the warrior's armor of many civilizations of the past.

With Valentine's Day coming up, heart jewelry is coming into the forefront of nearly everyone's shopping list and with good reason! It's the most popular jewelry around Valentine's Day because it is so beautiful and symbolizes so much without the need to say anything to go along with it. Quite simply, heart jewelry is a great and wonderful gift all year round – never mind just around Valentine's Day season.

Luckily for you, Earth's Treasure has all of your heart jewelry needs covered and in every possible way imaginable. Whether it's amethyst heart jewelry, citrine heart jewelry, ruby heart jewelry, pink sapphire heart jewelry, white sapphire heart jewelry, blue sapphire heart jewelry, mystic fire topaz heart jewelry or mystic ice heart jewelry, we have it here at Earth's Treasure. If your not sure what type of heart jewelry to get your loved one than let's take a look at the different types we have for you.

Amethyst heart jewelry would be a great option for anyone who was actually born in February since it is the birthstone for the month. It is also highly popular and in high fashion for the spring and summer as well!

Citrine heart jewelry is the birthstone for November and is also known as the 'heart of gold' jewelry. It is the pantone color for the year of 2009 and is also known as “Mimosa” jewelry. Like the amethyst heart jewelry, citrine heart jewelry is also high popular in the spring and summer months.

Ruby heart jewelry is well known as a Valentine's Day gift and since it is so beautiful, its no wonder nothing has changed. A quality gift for anyone at any time of the year, ruby heart jewelry makes an extra special gift come Valentine's Day.

Pink sapphire heart jewelry , like ruby heart jewelry, is a well known Valentine's Day gift. It all would really boil down to which your partner would prefer – red or pink – as to which you should decide upon for a gift.

White sapphire heart jewelry and blue sapphire heart jewelry , while not very common, is an exotic and incredibly beautiful gift that would make any women proud to be your partner on Valentine's Day. They both look great in a wide variety of different styles and you can be sure that we offer them all!

Mystic fire topaz heart jewelry is for the women of mystery this Valentine's Day. It has three different colors: green mystic topaz, blue mystic topaz and twilight mystic topaz. Any of the three would make a wonderful and awe inspiring heart jewelry gift.

Mystic ice heart jewelry offers a simulated diamond effect a la cubic zirconia. It looks more like a rainbow diamond than anything else and comes in mercury mist mystic ice, moon glow mystic ice and lunar lavender mystic ice variations. The lunar lavender mystic ice looks like its from outer space while the others have more conservative yet still breathtaking looks.

In the end, it doesn't really matter which type of heart jewelry you choose because every single variation is a quality one that will show your partner that you care not only about them but about their style as well. They'll be looking hip, flashy and beautiful and you'll be enjoying the benefits of having cemented a place in her heart until the end of time!

The Shape of the Heart: Where did the symbol come from?

As with every Valentine's Day, people are presenting their loved ones with heart-shaped cards, candies and trinkets. But how did the heart shape become the unanimous symbol for love? The answers you'll get for this question are quite different and varied depending on who you ask.
During the seventh century B.C. in the city-state of Cyrene there was a plant called silphium that is now extinct. It was mostly used for seasoning but was also used for off-label use with things like birth control and mood enhancement. The plant was so important to the economy though, that coins were minted so that they would depict a seedpod which looked like the heart shape that we commonly know today.

One of the original and most well respected stories goes that this heart like symbol was first associated with sex and then, eventually, with love.

The Catholic Church contends that the heart shape and symbol did not appear until the 17th century, when Saint Margaret Mary Alocoque had a vision in which it was surrounded by thorns. This symbol eventually would become known as the Sacred Heart of Jesus and was associated with complete and utter love and devotion. It would begin to appear on many stained-glass windows in churches and in other church iconography. While the Sacred Heart symbol may have popularized the heart shape to the masses, the majority of scholars agree that it existed MUCH earlier than in the 1600's.

Still other accounts suggest that the modern heart symbol's origin comes from botched attempts at drawing an actual human heart. Many ancient scholars and philosophers viewed the heart as the center for all human passions. The medieval tradition of courtly love setups may have further reinforced the shape's association with the idea of romance. Indeed, the modern day heart symbol and all that it stands for could be a combination of all of these things that have occurred throughout our history.

So instead of worrying about where abouts the heart symbol came from and how we can better understand it, just enjoy that it has become an integral part of our society and buy that special someone a nice, jewelry gift littered with the heart symbol we all know and love!

The meaning of gemstone colors in jewelry fashions

Certain colors can influence our emotions in a variety of different ways. Each color has its own specific characteristics and effect on our lives. They can affect how we feel, how we act, and how we respond to other people. Many people believe that colors have underlying powers and that colored gemstones can hold these powers. Below are the meanings of our most popular jewelry by colors.

Red Jewelry
The color red is the warmest and most energetic of all the jewelry colors. It’s always associated with fire and heat, which is symbolic of passion and love as well as anger and rage. The vibrancy of the color red is very good at drawing attention, which, if used correctly can work in your favor.

Pink Jewelry
A combination of red and white, pink is a very light and delicate jewelry color. It is known worldwide as the color of love and is very good at inducing relaxation as well as calming down a tense situation.

Blue Jewelry
Dependable, trustworthy and committed, blue is one of the most popular jewelry colors around. It could be because it induces relaxation or maybe its due in part to it being the least gender specific color. The overuse of blue can come across as cold and uncaring but when used the right way can give off a soothing feeling. This calming and sedating color is right for pretty much everyone!

Green Jewelry
Second only to blue as people’s favorite jewelry color, green is one of the more peaceful and refreshing colors. This color is often used in calming techniques, relaxing the mind as well as the body, which makes it great for meditation. Green is the safest of all the colors so if you don’t know what color to wear, green is your best bet.

Yellow Jewelry
With the ability to enhance creativity, happiness, and optimism, yellow is one of the more popular jewelry colors. Probably the biggest attention grabber but can be overpowering if overdone. If you’re looking for a little bit of attention, yellow might be the color for you!

Orange Jewelry
A close relative to red, it’s not surprising that orange jewelry is associated with warmth and kindness. Radiating energy, orange often stimulates activity and encourages the exploration of new things. People who like the color orange are thought to be kind and caring.

Purple Jewelry
With a strong association with royalty, the color purple exudes an aura of wealth, sophistication and class. Purple jewelry gives off a sense of mystery and magic, it is also known to provoke imagination and inspiration in its owners. For these reasons, purple is often well liked by people with creative minds and free spirits such as artists and actors.

Brown Jewelry
Brown jewelry is considered to be the color of earth and is symbolic of solidity, reliability and conventionalism. Certain shaded of brown can create feelings of wholesomeness while others can give off a feeling of dullness and lack of creativity. Overall, brown is a very solid color that is used to show order and stability. Very popular among people in power or authoritative positions.

Black Jewelry
The color black is often considered the color of power and authority. It is also connected with rebellion, hostility and mystery. Wearing the right amount of black jewelry gives off the sense of sophistication and confidence while wearing too much can be overwhelming, evoking emotions of sadness and fear.

White Jewelry
White is the universal symbol of purity and innocence. It stands for completion, truth, openness and cleanliness. It is a wonderful choice for new beginnings and development. It invokes mental clarity and honesty, which are both calming features. White jewelry works well with every color and can be used on almost any occasion.

Grey Jewelry
A true neutral color, grey imparts a sense of void, lack of energy or emotion and a feeling of emptiness. As negative as these characteristics may sound they all attribute to the relaxing and restful aspect of grey jewelry. It is a symbol for maturity and dependability as well as security. It has a very stabilizing effect, making other vibrant colors stand out more.

Gold/Tan Jewelry
A symbol of wealth, success, good health and personal power, gold jewelry is one of our most popular colors. People who wear gold are usually optimistic and happy with their lives. Helps promote courage, confidence, and willpower to overcome obstacles.

Choosing jewelry by color is one of the easiest ways to begin picking out your next piece! We hope our color meanings helped in narrowing down your decision. If you have any questions or can’t find what you’re looking for feel free to contact us at anytime. Thanks for shopping at Earth’s Treasures!

Why red gems are in style this holiday season.

Why red gem jewelry are in style this holiday season. As we stand on the brink of the holiday season, it’s not uncommon for us to be stressed as we look for jewelry gifts for our friends and loved ones. We certainly don’t want to anyone anything that they wouldn’t want or would find stupid or uncool. Perhaps because of this, red gemstone jewelry has enjoyed a vast increase in popularity over the last few years as a great jewelry gift for anyone of any age during the holiday season.

Easily the most popular of the red jewelry gems are the ruby and garnet . The name ‘ruby’ is derived from the Latin word of ‘rubens’ meaning red. It is also the jewelry birthstone for July. The ruby is the red variant of the corundum mineral. A ruby is basically a red sapphire since the ruby and the sapphire are almost identical in nearly every possible way except for color. The rubies color varies from bright red to a dark reddish-brown color and is distinguished and recognized by all for its fiery red color.

The stylish color for the ruby is the deep blood red one with a slightly blue hue. This type of ruby is known as the “Burmese Ruby” or the “Pigeon’s Blood Ruby”. The majority of the rubies on the market today are from Thailand are of a slight brownish hue. If requested, these rubies can be heat-treated to improve their color. Laboratory grown rubies are also available (along with many other gems) and possess the exact color and physical properties of the natural gem.

The other popular gem for the holiday season is garnet jewelry. This gem is the jewelry birthstone for January and is available in many different men’s and women’s styles. The garnets color ranges from a burnt orange similar to autumn leaves to a glowing red coal color similar to a winter fire. It also comes in a sparkling green color and a lovely pinkish rose color that resemble fresh new leaves and garden flowers respectively. Easily the most popular garnet is the red coal colored one, especially come holiday season.

While gems have been a popular gift around the holidays for quite some time, red gem jewelry in particular have only recently grown in popularity. This can be attributed to several different factors, not the least of which is the recent boom of the color red in the jewelry fashion industry. Because of this however, a spike in ruby and garnet purchases in particular has been seen and it is progressively getting larger as we move further into the holiday season.

Not only is a gem a thoughtful and wonderful gift, a red gem in particular will also tell whoever your getting it for that you have great taste and are concerned with that the jewelry gift your are giving them is current and hip. Ruby or garnet jewelry is also a splendid gift to get for someone whose birthday is in July or January since they are the two months birthstones.

If you’re stressed out and don’t know what to get for that special someone, relax, take a deep breath and come to the personal freindly service of Earths Treasure Jewelers and and get them wonderful garnet jewelry or ruby jewelry for the holidays. It will truly be a gift that they won’t soon forget!
